Provides temporary shelter for those who are homeless due to fire or natural disaster.  Provides temporary shelter in cases of extreme weather conditions.

Assistance available:  Intake hours are 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM daily.

Shelter for single men, single women, women with children and married couples with children.  Provides emergency housing.  First 5 days are free and $3.00 after that.  Homeless housing for an additional 25 days and transitional housing for up to five months.  Capacity is 16 persons, depending on family configuration.  No meals provided, but laundry and shower facilities are available.  Local newspaper and local phone provided.  Referrals to other agencies as needed.

 

Foundation 2 Youth Shelter

Assistance available 24 hours a day, year round.

Shelter for youth ages 11 to 17.  The shelter is free; other costs are on a sliding fee scale based on income and ability to pay.  Meals provided.  Services include individual, family and group counseling, in-shelter school program for youth residing outside the metropolitan area, tutoring for those in shelter, recreation and health care.  For non-system or voluntary youth, a 5-day family assessment is conducted.  Maximum length of stay is up to 14 days for non-system youth and 45 days for court-ordered youth (can be extended upon request and approval).  Capacity is 15 youth.  Out-client family and individual counseling.

 

Mission of Hope Shelter

Assistance available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

Nine beds for men, 2 beds for women.  Housing for women is emergency only.  6:00 PM curfew unless checked out for work or recovery program.  All residents searched upon entrance.  Residents need to be 18 or older.

Assistance available daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.  Residents need to leave building Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Shelter for single women with or without children, married couples with children and married couples without children on a limited basis.  Does not serve unaccompanied minors, single males, single fathers with children, active substance abusers, persons who are actively suicidal or domestic violence referrals.  No fees. Breakfast and dinner are provided for residents.  Maximum time allowed in shelter is 3 to 6 weeks, depending on circumstances.  Capacity is 9-12 persons, depending on family configuration.

Provide the community’s only confidential, secure, emergency Domestic Violence Shelter that offers safety, basic needs and support for female victim/survivors and their children.  Women access the shelter by calling the crisis line for staff or volunteers to provide emergency transportation to shelter from a public location.  Along with providing basic living necessities and transportation to appointments, we provide individualized case management by meeting with guests each week to identify the guest’s needs and barriers; provide support and guidance; make referrals to other community resources that can provide assistance to the identified barriers; help guests set goals and work toward achieving them during their stay with us.  Maximum time allowed in shelter varies based on individual needs.  Other services include 24-hour crisis line, counseling, support groups and advocacy within the medical, legal and social service systems.  All services are free and confidential.

Assistance available 24 hours a day, year round for emergency shelter.  Intake hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Daytime Resource Center hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Overnight shelter provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

 

Shelter for women with or without children.  No fees.  No boys over 12 years of age.  Structured, goal-oriented program.  Services include a daytime resource center with meals, laundry facility, short-term counseling, educational workshops & seminars and assistance with housing and employment search.  Maximum stay is up to 90 days.  Capacity is 47, depending upon family configuration.

 

Willis Dady Emergency Shelter

Assistance (office) available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.  Check in times from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Sunday.  Families check in at 4:00 PM, men at 5:00 PM.

Shelter for single men over the age of 18, couples with children, single fathers with children, and single mothers with male children over 12 years old.  Check-in for men is at 5:00 PM, checkout at 7:00 AM.  Check-in for families is at 4:00 PM, checkout at 8:00 AM.  Weekends 24 hours for families.  Curfew for all residents is 10:00 PM daily.  Shelter is closed during the day from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  No fees.  Meals served on Sunday and holidays.  Length of stay is 30 days for men and 60 days for families.  Capacity is 46 persons.  No single women
