Provides before, during and after school daycare and some full-day, full-year programs using public and private child care providers.  For children from preschool to 5th grade.  The Grant site and the Five Seasons East site both offer care for infants and toddlers, in addition to the other ages listed above.  Licensed by DHS.  Free transportation to the Step-Up school based preschool programs may be available.  Managed by the Cedar Rapids Community School District.

Provides full-day child development services for children ages 3-5.  Low-income families and children with special needs have priority.  Serves children through Head Start contract with HACAP and state early education grant, at no cost to parents.  Also accepts children on State Child Care Assistance (DHS Block Grant), sliding fee and private pay.  Parenting support offered.

Provides preschool classrooms for 2-4 year olds with additional 3 & 4 year-olds Christian based classroom.  The curriculum is based upon a monthly theme with developmentally appropriate activities brought into the classroom.  We also have a preschool plus program from 11:30-1:30 that includes lunch as well as additional activities.  Does not include lunch; kids pack their own.

River Ridge Kids currently offers:

 

·          Licensed childcare for children age 6 weeks to 5 years old.  Provides social, emotional and physical growth and learning experiences for children.  Priority enrollment is given to AEGON employees for the infant – 5 year old age group.

 

·          Summer Adventure Camp for children Kindergarten through Fifth grade is offered at this location.

Assistance available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Free, short-term childcare for Linn County families experiencing a crisis.  Crisis situations may include domestic abuse, medical emergencies, housing problems, deaths, and high levels of stress.  Children newborn through 14 are eligible for care.  Crisis Care is not substitute care for working parents, will not place children for a “night on the town,” or place children with a contagious disease.

Free, scheduled short-term care to Linn County families.  Can be used to attend parenting class, therapy or counseling sessions or personal time for a parent who is having trouble coping due to substance abuse, grief, depression or difficulty in parenting.  24 hour advance notice needed.

Provides parent education and parenting classes for families with children under six years of age.  Specialized programs for families with children of all ages include: classes for parents who are divorced or separated, parenting classes for step parents, classes for Dads, classes for parents who are court-mandated to attend parenting classes.  Classes are held at varying times at a variety of locations.  No fees.
